“DOES” is an acronym formulated by the American researcher, psychotherapist Elein aaron in 2011 and stands for:
D (depth = processing depth)
O (overstimulation =)
S (subtitles = sensitivity to details).
It was created to indicate the main characteristics of HSPs (High Sensitive Persons) which, according to the latest research, appear to be between 15% -30% of the population of each country, against 80% -85% who do not have it.
Always considered simply “excessively” sensitive people, having a more sensitive nervous system is not only completely normal, but it has immense potential in itself, rarely able to be expressed.
In our culture, this personality trait is not considered ideal, on the contrary: parents and teachers, even with the best intentions, have tried to help “overcome” this way of behaving and perceiving the world, as if it were a defect.
Research has shown that these personalities have a high potential as leaders and that, through the knowledge of their tools that from limits can become precious allies, they can represent key figures in this delicate historical moment, where empathy towards others it is ostracized as much as possible, and the alienation dictated by strong individualism creates masses of personalities that are ever more perennially dissatisfied and unhappy.
The British parliament has for some years begun to make funds available for psychologists from all over the world to allow them to identify these personalities among the prominent ones in the country and create the new leaders of tomorrow.
To go to schools and train teachers to support, identify and develop HSPs from childhood.
