Centolire is an ongoing personal project I started the day I moved to New York.
I decided on a whim to leave Milan and my entire life, and I was very anxious about the venture. As a photographer, I faced my distress by taking pictures
Centolire grew beyond the need to embrace a difficult situation, and instead became my visual diary
The title comes from a traditional Italian migrant song
“…mamma dammi cento lire che in America voglio andar….”
“mum, give me a hundred liras as I want to move to America”
